Apparently – bus companies have introduced a new policystating that drivers above 23 stone in weight will no longer be able to drive
Directors at Stagecoach for instance have sent 14,400 of their staff letters stating the new policy. The company hvae introduced the new policy nationally following fears their seats could collapse.
Employees above the new legal weight limit are to be offered keep-fit incentives as well as alternative work within the company.
The policy was implemented after Stagecoach was advised by vehicle manufacturers that the adjustable chairs in the bus cabs could collapse under too much weight and therefore posed a significant health and safety threat.
