There are two indications of a secured web page:
- The web page URL
- The ‘lock’ icon
For instance – when browsing the web, the URLs (web page addresses) start with the letters ‘http’, but with a secure connection the address displayed should always begin with ‘https’ – note the difference being the ‘s’ at the end.
On a secure site you will always find a ‘lock’ icon somewhere in the window of the browser (NOT in the web page display area!).
