Yes – you can exercise while you are pregnant but there are steps that you need to take to ensure that it is safe for both you and your baby.

For instance – some forms of exercising can harm you or your baby, i.e. if you have a history of previous pregnancy-such as:
- Induced hypertension
- Weak cervix
- Heart disease
- Pre-term labor or
- Vaginal bleeding
If you have suffered from any of the above then it would be safer to hold off on the exercise until after you have given birth.
It is also advisable to check with your doctor before starting any exercise routine, even if you haven’t suffered any of pre-birth complications as mentioned. If you have started an exercise routine and suffer any unusual pain such as -discomfort and dizziness, then sieze exercising and seek advice from your doctor to ensure that you are not causing any harm.
On a positive note: Exercising during pregnancy can help your body prepare for childbirth. It can improve circulation and help you to maintain your shape after your baby is born.
