Can Memory Cards Go Bad?
August 19, 2009 No Comments
Memory cards can be either corrupt or damaged. This does not necessarily mean that you have lost the data stored on the card. The data is most likely to be still intact but you just can’t access it. If you have purchased a good quality memory card you shouldn’t have any problems as they are designed to go through up to 20,000 format cycles before having any failures.
How Can I Avoid The Card Being Corrupted?
Formatting the card after each use (after transfering all your data to your PC) refreshes the memory card and writes a new image index file and new image file folder. This can be the most effective way to prevent corruption of files.
